Ledger Live Desktop Getting Started
Please read this Disclaimer carefully before downloading, installing, or using the Ledger Live desktop application (“the Software”). By accessing or using the Software, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by the terms outlined below.1. No Financial or Investment Advice
Ledger Live is a software interface designed to facilitate the management of cryptographic assets. It is a tool for visualization and transaction management. The information provided through the Software—including but not limited to portfolio balances, market charts, price data, and staking rewards—is for informational purposes only. Nothing contained in the Software constitutes financial, investment, legal, or tax advice. Ledger SAS does not act as a broker, financial advisor, or fiduciary. You are solely responsible for conducting your own research and consulting with qualified professionals before making any financial decisions. The value of cryptocurrencies is highly volatile and can result in significant loss.2. “Not Your Keys, Not Your Crypto”
While Ledger Live allows you to view and manage your accounts, the Software itself does not hold your private keys or cryptocurrency. Your private keys are stored securely within your Ledger hardware wallet (e.g., Ledger Nano S, Nano X, or Stax). Ledger Live merely provides a bridge to interact with the blockchain. You acknowledge that the security of your digital assets depends entirely on the safe-keeping of your hardware wallet and your 24-word recovery phrase. Never share your recovery phrase with anyone. Ledger will never ask for your 24-word recovery phrase. If you lose your recovery phrase, you will permanently lose access to your funds, and Ledger cannot recover them for you.3. Third-Party Services
Ledger Live integrates with various third-party service providers to offer features such as buying, selling, swapping, and staking crypto assets. These services are provided by independent entities (e.g., MoonPay, Changelly, Coinify). Ledger SAS does not control, endorse, or assume responsibility for the actions, omissions, or performance of these third-party providers. Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms of service and privacy policies. Any transactions conducted through third-party providers are solely between you and that provider. Ledger SAS shall not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of third-party services.4. Technical Risks and Blockchain Irreversibility
Blockchain technology is inherently complex and carries inherent risks. You acknowledge that:- Irreversibility: Transactions on the blockchain are irreversible. Once you confirm a transaction, it cannot be undone.
- Network Fees: You are responsible for paying all network fees (miner fees) required to execute transactions.
- Software Bugs: While Ledger strives to maintain high standards of security, the Software may contain bugs or vulnerabilities.
- Network Congestion: Blockchain networks may become congested, causing delays in transaction confirmations.
